Mission Motivate - Mrs. Portland Week 3

Portland

Week 3

Things were going along just fine and I was feeling wonderful until last night.  I cheated and had two handfuls of potato chips. Boy did I feel guilty!  Mentally it affected me because I was so bloated.  I almost didn’t want to work out.  I told my trainer this morning what I did, and he said he understood.  However, he called my family right then and there and told them to get the junk food out of the house!

Before I started my makeover I was a junk food junky and addicted to sweets.  I would sometimes have four candy bars in a day.  My favorite candy was Hot Tamales.  When I was grocery shopping I would open a big box in the store and snack on them.  By the time I got home the box was gone!  I’m happy my sugar cravings are gone.  This past Saturday I went to my aunt’s 77th birthday party.  When they were passing around slices of cake, I held up my hand and actually refused a piece.  It felt really good!

My daughter is getting married this weekend, and I don’t know what to do about eating her wedding cake.  Should I try the cake or not?  I don’t want to hurt my daughter’s feelings, but I’m afraid if I have a piece, it might trigger something and I’ll want to eat the whole cake!

Since I’m only being weighed every two weeks, I don’t know if I have lost more weight.  My clothes are loose so I know I am losing inches.  The sweat suit I wore to my very first workout is really big on me now.  I think I have lost three or four inches around my waist alone!

I’m sticking to my meal plan.  I have been coming up with some great recipes of my own that are light, filling and taste really good.  But, I still think I am eating too much.  My nutritionist told me to keep a zip lock bag of two apples, two carrots, two cucumbers and two celery stalks with me every day.  When I get hungry I should snack from the bag.  However, I never finish the entire bag by the end of the day.

The exercising is not getting any easier.  There are times I want to quit. Last Friday I was almost a no-show because on I was so sore from my workout on Thursday.  I am working out five days a week.  If you can believe it I do sets of 100 knee pushes and 30 sit-ups….and I do six sets total.  That’s 600!  After that I walk 35 minutes on the treadmill.  My trainer has me drinking a powdered drink similar to Gatorade for energy while I am working out.  It is really helpful and gives me energy to do the exercises.

Hi everyone,

I have a little confession to make....

With my second daughter, Riley, being born 7 months ago and a business that is exploding, I have gotten out of shape.  That's right, one of Orange County's top personal trainers is out of shape.  I'm not obese or anything but I feel like my pants around my waist are tighter and I don't look as defined as I used to be.  And yes, I have some belly fat that is starting to get bigger.  Plus just mentally I don't feel as good and I am more tired.

Why am I confessing to you all this?

Because I want to be held accountable by promising to you (and myself)  that I am going to get my body back in top shape...Six Pack and all!

Plus, I want you to see how I go from letting my schedule, business and family be an EXCUSE for not staying in top shape, to turning it all into motivation and keeping my promise to myself...

So...I am going to keep a blog diary about what I eat, what and when I workout and if I cheat or mess up.

I promise to be totally honest with you!

 So here we go....

It is 11:19pm on Sunday night and I am getting ready to go to bed.

My alarm is set for 3:30 so I can get some work done, eat breakfast and do my workout at 5:00am

Please, If you notice I do not frequently enter my blog diary - email me or call me at 949 422 9667!!!!

Thanks for your support and I'll see you at the next level!!!

PS If you want to see an old fat pic of me go to the success stories page on my site...

Portland - Project Motivate Update

Just thought I would share what Portland wrote in here E-Diary after here second week of Mission Motivate---

Portland’s Call – April 1, 2008

It hurts! When working out today I almost fainted twice.  The trainer told me to go take a lap and get some fresh air. I did and it helped. I felt better after that.

I should be eating breakfast an hour before I work out.  Today I had breakfast only 30 minutes before and I felt nauseous.  I need to be more careful….I don’t want this to happen again.

It has been two weeks and I am down 12 pounds – hooray!  I have also lost inches.  My clothes are fitting better and even my husband has noticed!

I should be working out five days a week, but last week I was only able to do it four times.  I am doing lots of cardio and weights.  I’ve been doing the same exercises - only now, instead of 15 sit-ups or push-ups, I am doing 30!  My trainer is working me hard.  I sweat a lot and there are times I breathe really heavily.  Some people at the gym joked that he was working me too hard!  He says I am doing a good job.

While working out today I realized exercise is an art.  You need to stand straight, your shoulders need to be back and you need to tuck things in.  It can be tough!  But yesterday my mind and body were working together and I felt good.

The meal plan is awesome, but I feel like I am eating too much.   I should be eating five meals a day however I am only eating three or four meals and snacking on apples or carrots.  The best part is, I no longer have sugar cravings and my acid reflux is gone!  It used to constantly bother me throughout the day, and I use to pop antacids all the time.  I found half a bottle in my car today when I realized I DON’T NEED THEM ANYMORE. How great is that!

Orange County Ca Personal Training Weight Loss Project Makeover week 1 With Irvine Personal Trainer

Week 1

I couldn’t be more proud of Portland!  Even if at first her body is not ready to do something, her attitude is.  The Plan this week is called operation total bombardment.  We are making a dramatic change in her life to trigger a deep subconscious change in her brain.  Five days in a row of intense personal training.  90 to 120 minute workouts.  You see if we just Trained 2 to 3 days per week she would still have 4 to 5 days to go back to her old habits.  Well, not on my watch!

Just wait till you see the new Portland in 8 weeks!!!!
